Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2013
16 September 2013
The Edinburgh Festival Fringe (The Fringe) is the world's largest arts festival, with the 2012 event spanning 25 days totalling over 2,695 shows from 47 countries in 279 venues. Established in 1947 as an alternative to the Edinburgh International Festival, the Fringe is a showcase for the performing arts, particularly theatre and comedy although dance and music are also represented. Theatrical productions range from the classics of ancient Greece to William Shakespeare, Samuel Beckett and contemporary works. The Fringe is an unjuried festival – with no selection committee, and therefore any type of performance may participate. The Fringe has often showcased experimental works that might not be invited to a more conservative arts festival.
Afternoon Tea is presenting 18 shows in the Fringe that might be interesting for Iranian artists working in the area of performing arts; an opportunity to see the shows and engage with the artists... join us to our trip to magnificent and busy Edinburgh!Read more

MissingText-based: Light, Physical Theatre
In Missing, Gecko company presents another visually stunning, visceral, physical performance embracing elements of dance, clowning and mime. Taking its creators’ personal experiences, relationships and emotional responses to the world for inspiration, the production is a journey into the depths of a person’s psyche. As Lily unearths her forgotten past and the truth changes everything, the audience enters a deliciously warped world of striking imagery, multiple languages and beautiful music that exemplifies the precision-moulded nature of the company’s work.Read more
